Michigan’s 2024 Election by the Numbers

  • 2024 General Election Workers: 35,000+

Michigan’s 2024 elections were free, fair, and secure.

For the primary elections, more than 1.8 million Michiganders turned out to vote.

5.7 million Michiganders turned out for the general elections in November. More than 35,000 election workers made sure voting was a smooth and secure process for voters across the state.

In 2024, as in other elections, ballots in Michigan were subject to strict “chain of custody” requirements, which means bipartisan election officials were legally required to monitor and track every ballot through each stage of the process. This includes ballots that were cast by mail, through secure drop boxes, and in person. Depending on the type of election, Michigan elections offices conduct certain kinds of post-election audits to verify that the election was conducted correctly and followed state law. It was confirmed that all major 2024 election results in Michigan were accurate through this process.

In Michigan, the outcomes for all major statewide and national elections were called within one day. All counties in the state certified the results for the general election by November 20th, 2024.
